This sounds like you have a faulty power board and it is not regulating the power correctly. Unplugging it is a cold restart and will temporarily fix the issue but it will eventually stop powering on at all. If it is under warranty, you should file a claim. If not, you can buy a new power board and replace it if you are tech savvy. Otherwise it's time to buy a new one.
