Sounds like you need to connect your Sony turntable to a phono preamp, and then connect the preamp outs to the speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check on the back of the turntable - the switch should be on LINE and not PHONO. That worked for me. With speakers make sure its on RCA.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem! I took them up to best buy and they couldn't figure it out till we realized there was a button on the side which switch the sound from blue tooth to AC...if u look at the front of the speaker and press the button at the same time u can see the color change.

The volume knob on the speaker is also a 'source' button, which you can push to change to use the a/c rather than bluetooth. It will toggle between bluetooth, a/c and standby. The light will be solid green when ready to use a/c.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The insignia bluetooth bookshelf speakers does not have a pre amp built in. It is necessary to switch the Sony turntable to line out not phono and then the amplified bluetooth speakers will work. Make sure to turn the volume low before trying them out. When using line out of the Sony the sound from the stylus is pre amplified by the turntable and then is further amplified by the speakers. The phono output of the turntable is for using amplified speakers which also has a pre amp built in or using a standalone amp or receiver which also has a built in pre amp.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Same here so I have to buy turntableore amp?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.See if your settings on the turntable are not for a phone pre amp. Because the pre amp inside the turntable will amplify the sound for the speakers
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sounds like the output impedance of the turntable doesn’t match the input impedance required to adequately drive the speaker amplifier. These speakers work nicely with Bluetooth and off my iPhone audio output jack.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine works fine audio is great may want to change your audio plugs
