Best buy owns the brand. Best answer i found is this: Insignia is Best Buy’s in-house brand. Each model is contracted out to a different company to cut out the middle man and reduce costs (which is why they’re usually so cheap). Most units are probably built in China, but when I worked at Best Buy, some models were made by LG. I am buying Insignia and for the price difference, i get the 5 years warranty, i hope it will work well for my rental properties. Side by Sides have a modern clean look, are quiet and so far so good but it's only be a couple of months
