Presuming your device is not defective, make sure you've run through the usual suspects: 1) Are phone AND car stereo volume are set to at least middle level; 2) Have you selected "tape" on car stereo? 3) Is the song or app you've selected on your phone actually playing, not on "pause"? 4) Is the audio track itself functioning properly? (i.e., can you hear it through your phone speaker if you disconnect from the car stereo?) 5) Is the jack from the cassette adapter plugged all the way into your phone? Give it an extra push to be sure. This can easily happen with devices plugged into the audio jack. If all those things are in place, and still no sound, then I suppose your device is defective. Hope you are able to work it out or get a replacement. :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to have the phone volume up if not it won't work

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought this to connect my old school mp3 player to my old school car stereo cassette player and it worked fine so I'm thinking your phone will need newer technology. Perhaps like the one below? Best Buy should be able to help you.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Try plugging in your phone first and starting the app, then inserting the adapter. That is what I have to do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It might be defective or you cassette deck just don't recognize it. I use this in a Lexus RX330 and have to buy one after every summer because it gets to 116 where I live. The car gets hotter than that. After the summer I experience the same thing, so I go an buy a new one. So, maybe the new one you got is defective and just have to replace it or your deck is just stubborn and does not want to recognize it. Sometimes, when pushed, if it does not get signal right away, it thinks it has nothing and stop transmitting from it. That happened to me too in multiple occasions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.did you check the volume output on your phone?
