A:Answer It could be done, but you would want to use a pretty hefty inverter (not a small one that runs off a cigarette lighter). I believe that it takes 3.5 amps when its running, but it will require quite a bit more when initially starting the compressor. Two low of amperage, and the compressor will eventually burn out.
