Hi Jziggy, Washing machine drums typically spin with the assistance of a drive belt. If this belt becomes broken or badly connected, it can rub against other components, creating friction and a burning smell. Frequently, washing machines don't spin when the drive belt is broken. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine has too.. it didn’t the first few loads, but the last couple have stunk up my whole house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine also did that for the first couple loads but then stopped. After googling multiple different questions about it, I’ve gathered that the washer motors and/or belts just being broken in. So unless it stops working, it should be fine and will stop smelling like that the more it is used.
