Yes, this HDMI switch should enable you to connect up to a total of 4 devices (1 connected directly to one of the TV's HDMI ports, and 3 connected to this HDMI switch). Not sure which Amazon Fire Stick you have, but I have the 4K version which came with a very short extension HDMI cable and I had to use it because the Amazon stick covered part of the neighboring HDMI port on the switch. I'm not sure why your switch is not working -- I don't know a whole lot about how all this works, but I remember when I bought the Insignia HDMI switch, I read somewhere that not every HDMI port on a TV is created equally and there may be only one that is configured to work with a hub. So if you plug it into one port and it doesn't work, I suggest trying to plug it into the other port. Also, make sure that you plug in this switch to a power outlet or surge protector (I suggest a surge protector) and make sure the surge protector is turned on. Then you'd have to turn on all your devices and go through the TV's detection sequence to make sure it "sees" all the devices. It will probably only "see" the ones that are powered on. I hope this helps.
