- Answer From my investigation of the manual, no, it must be drained at some point. An LED light on the control panel will let you know when to drain.

- Answer There is a plug on the rear of the ac which u will hVe to drain the water. Or you can connect a hose to it.

- Answer Hollie, This device does need to be vented. This AC unit comes with an exhaust port hose that needs to be mounted to the outside so hot exhaust air can escape and the unit's cool air can circulate inside. This exhaust hose has a diameter of about 5 inches. If your garage has any normal sized double hung window this will work perfectly because this AC unit comes with a double hug window mounting kit. If you have another style window you could shop around online to find different mounting kits which I know are out there, and will work for this unit. Hope this helps! Cheers.

- Answer I bought this unit for my son who lives in a small apt in a very old building built around 1935. But the unit comes with a hose attachment that he put into the opening window and then pulled the window down until it contacted the top of the flat insert and put flat pieces of plastic on either side to cover the remaining sides of the open portion to block out air from coming in. So it appears you can adapt the exhaust hose adapter to fit any sized window. Hope that helps.

- Answer There is a vent kit that is provided with the unit which can be installed horizontally or vertically. This allows for installation in either casement or double hung windows. The hose is very flexible and it attaches to a narrow, plastic slat that is placed in the window. There is hardware included that allows for locking the window in place for security.

QuestionI have just purchased the Insignia 350 portable AC and have the exhaust venting out of my slightly open window. Is there sometype of grill that goes over the air exhaust passage? The opening is large enough for a small animal of squirrel to come thru.

QuestionThe exhaust hose has popped out of both the plastic end connections (to the unit & window panel). Support couldn't help and told me to bring it in, seems like a waste. There has to be an easy way to get the hose reconnected to the adapter ends. HELP!

- Answer You need a hose to exhaust the hot air which comes with this unit but there must be an outlet to do that without a window I am not sure where are you planning to let the hot air out.

QuestionDoes the timer, once set, work daily? or is it something i have to reset everyday to the desired times i want it in on/off? I am going on vacation and want to make sure it works daily to keep my house cool for my cat.

- Answer By now you probably know the answer if you bought one. The timer is not on a clock that you can set for various times. It is a countdown timer for when the unit shuts off. It works in hours. When the unit is on, you can then set the timer to shut off in a certain number of hours.

- Answer Was pretty loud. No idea about the decibel levels. There's a buzzing noise that was supposed to go away but never did after a month.
