• You should be able to with smart screen. If you swipe down from the top of your phone, swipe down once more to reveal more settings and the swipe right by to left. You will see a smart screen icon. Use it to connect to your TV. It is Samsung's version of smart screen. If your TV is compatible, you will see everything that is on your phone on your TV.

• No. Neither size HDML will connect to an S8. You should be able to stream direct to tv or use charging cord from S8 to USB on tv.
