Yes, I don't see a problem with that. Once the drivers are installed (and assuming that you are plugging back into the same USB plug), you should not have to worry about it again. The external power cord should be okay.

No, it acts as a separate USB port. If you have two headsets going, the laptop you are using would only recognize one at a time (not both). This is more of a motherboard issue than a USB port issue.

A:AnswerActually, it DOES NOT work. I purchased one based on the first answer I got. When I picked it up at the store, I immediately went out to my car and installed it. It would not let me charge my phone while listening to music on my travel stick. I took it back inside the store and got a refund. The store associates told me this device would need a driver to work in my car. Supposedly it would work on my laptop because the laptop has a driver for it. But my car doesn't have a driver for it.
