QuestionNew Insignia 5.0 Cu Feet Chest Freezer. Its been on for 24 hours at Max temperature,NO FOOD inside. Temperature inside is around -5 degrees. NO ICE FORMATION ON THE WALLS OR BOTTOM. Is it normal??

- Answer I can't speak to 25 below zero as I live in California but we easily get temps running 100 degrees in the summer and the freezer has been fine.

QuestionBought this freezer and plugged it in. Put two bags of ice and some frozen potatoes in it. Was on middle of setting and it sat overnight and the ice started to thaw. Is that normal? Its about 46 degrees in garage. Does not seem to get cold enough.

- Answer The directions clearly state you should let the unit sit for at least 24hours before plugging in and using, in order for the coolant system adjust to its environment BEFORE USING. The ice melting would be normal at first, but the unit would probably become cold enough after a couple of hours.

- Answer Don't remember the dimensions. They are probably online. We put ours in the back of our Prius. We laid it on it's side which meant it had to sit upright for at least 2 hours before turning it on. It works great! Could use an extra basket inside. No thermometer on product so we put our own inside to get the temperature setting where we wanted it.

QuestionIf I lay it down when bringing it home will it ruin ? Is there a compressor with oil in it that would not allow it to be laid flat

- Answer I had mine on it's side bringing it home. After reading the directions, they say before plugging it in let it stand upright for a couple of hours and then plug it in. Not sure why but I did as instructed and have had no problems.

- Answer I don’t have the dimensions of the box; however, it was an extremely tight fit in the trunk of our Nissan Murano. I assume it would fit better if we had put the seats down.
