A:Answer I just wrote a new review, having purchased this freezer over 6 months ago. I turned it off today because we are leaving Florida for a few months and wanted it off. Because of its small size, it defrosts very quickly. Less than 2 hours and I did nothing more than turn it off, pull out the plug, and place a small towel on the top shelf. I then placed a shallow fry pan on the towel. I left the door open and came back in less than 2 hours and it was completely defrosted, No mess to clean up. Amazing!
