Questiondoes anyone notice any clouding spots? i had purchase this tv but i notice the clouding in the middle of the screen i think it could be a defect.

- Answer That might be a defect. I do not notice that on my TV. I run the TV with the following settings. Mode: Movie Darker Backlight: 93 Contrast: 50 Brightness: 50 Sharpness: 0 All adaptive lighting set to "off" "Temp" to warm I use those settings because they are the settings recommended by CNET for the best picture quality. Maybe that will help? -Eric

QuestionCan this model be watched without using the "Smart" features?Will my 92 yr old mother be able to watch this tv without an internet connection? In other words, can this model be watched without using the "Smart" features of the tv? Thanks!

- Answer Yes, but you will need an antenna for over the air channels.

QuestionHere's a stupid question.In ,my defense, I am 66 years old, OK. So, don't go "Jesus Christ." I currently have cable. I want to cut the cord, oh god, I want to cut the cord. I love to get the "news" from ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, etc. Will I have to buy an app for all these channels if I buy this TV and cut the cord??

- Answer There is no such thing as a stupid question! You would be able to connect an antenna to the TV and get any local channels in your area (ABC, NBC, CBS usually). For the others, the integrated Roku interface does have tons of apps you can download, both free and paid, to get content including news.

QuestionDoes the Insignia 55" Roku TV have an Ethernet jack?I prefer to use wired connections (Ethernet) when adding devices to my home network. I understand that the Insignia 55" Roku TV has wireless capabilities, but does it also have an Ethernet jack?

- Answer No. You have to connect via WiFi. I was also worried about this, because my Vizio TV was connected via Ethernet, even though I have WiFi in our house. I figured a hard connection is better. Even though this TV uses WiFi it runs much faster and smoother than our Vizio did. It must have a faster wireless router built in. If you have WiFi trust me this TV runs super snappy over WiFi with no lag. I highly recommend this TV. Hope that helps, -Eric

QuestionDigital audio jack placementHi... Is the digital audio jack actually on the side? If so, wouldn't the cable just stick out the side of the TV and look stupid? I want to hook up a Sound bar, but I do not want to ruin the look of the TV with a cable sticking out the side. Please advise. Thank you.

- Answer The "side" of the TV is actually behind the TV. There is around 6 inches between the plugs and the edge of the TV. Your cord will not be visible.

- Answer The Roku is built in to the TV. You do not require a separate Roku stick. As far as recording, that will depend on what you have connected to the TV and how it is connected. If you are just using Roku features, then those are on demand and available on your schedule.

- Answer The Insignia 55" Smart Roku TV doesn't have direct voice command built into it. That feature is only available if you are using the remote mobile app on your cell phone or tablet so it's as prone to being remotely monitored by the NSA as any other smart phone with or without the Rodu app installed on it.

QuestionInput Select..Need 2 remotes to watch TVIs there anyway to get around the main Menu..When you turn the TV on you have to select which input you want..I want to just turn on the TV and have it be on the last Input that was chosen. Very frustrating especially when you cannot find the remote.

- Answer OK, I'm answering my own question. Here is how you get the TV to turn to a certain input you want. HDMI 1, HDMI 2 Ect. Even Last used. From the Menu go to Settings / System / Power / Power On Then choose input you want it to go to when you turn on the TV. Now you just need one remote and don't have to select the input every time you turn it on..Glad I found that, hope that helps other people.

- Answer There is not a way to input channel numbers, but you can press the left arrow to bring up the channel list, and use this to scroll quicker to the desired channel.

- Answer 29 3/4 inches. Assuming you are using HDMI, this tv has 3 HDMI connections, so you should be good to go. It also has 1 AV connection, coax connection and a usb.
