Insignia is a Chinese company - they have a special relationship with BestBuy. I believe that many of the component parts are shared by major brands. Sometimes there seems to be small differences in quality on the comparison wall, but in my experience at least some of that depends on brightness adjustments, etc. The paradigm has changed and it seems like we replace cell phones, computers, & most digital technology every so often. Why not buy one you like for the least cost? No one keeps it forever, anyway. I bought the 39" 5+ years ago and updated it last month with a 55" Insignia with 4K and Roku. Who knows what they'll have 5 years from now? Read the reviews and if you can find something you like "in person" with 4-5 stars for reliability and ease of set-up, buy it! Most people would be happy with Insignia, IMHO. Never had a minute of trouble with either of mine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Insignia is the "store brand" for Best Buy. I have bought 5 flat screen Insignia TVs, all still working. ALWAYS are inexpensive compared to other brands. I have also bought a pair of Insignia wireless tv headphones, for $89, for a nearly-deaf friend, he loves it! Has to say "digital" on the box. Insignia also has a $39 pair, not sure if it's digital, will shop that for myself. I've had: 42" plasma & 32" since '06; 39" & two 32" HDTV in our ski condo, 4 years.
