Yeah, don’t believe the support help from insignia. Increasing storage on these tv’s is not an option. They are nice tv’s, but once you run out of space (very easy to do), you are in trouble. I have tried 6 different highly recommended usb drives ranging from 32 to 64 and all have failed. If you use them as external, you cannot save any apps to them which doesn’t help with you space issues. If you convert them to internal storage, your tv will error out and the usb will become corrupt and useless. See my pictures for examples. Take my advise, don’t try to increase the storage, it’s a waste of time and money!! Major flaw in this tv which I love except for the storage issue !
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to download the freeware FAT32 format tool from EaseUS Master Free Edition. Format the drive. I used the Samsung 256 GB drive (usb version 3). I was able to format fine and connect to the Insignia FireTV. Follow the steps. Setting - Device and Software - USB Drive - Format
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just inserted a 128G SanDisk USB flash drive into the USB port on my insignia tv and my Insignia tv started working again. No more messages about storage space. My Insignia is a 2021 TV. I don't game and I don't plan to add more apps. Will see how long it lasts.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just figured out how to increase the storage! Add a Fire Stick to the Fire TV. Put all the important channels/apps on the TV & then fill the stick up with all other apps! Works great!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Its a fire tv issue not a tv issue. Amazon has stopped letting you transfer apps to external storage. I have the same issue on my fire tv device. The only fire tv i have that allows you to transfer is the 2nd gen.
