QuestionI am trying to connect my HP laptop to my Vizio tv. I need a cable with a display port on one end and an HDMI on the other to connect to the tv. Will this cable work?

- Answer Hello, John, This cable has a DisplayPort on both ends, so it will not work for you. However, I would advise to check the models NS-PD06502 and NS-PD94502, both allow you to connect a PC/laptop with a DisplayPort to an HDMI-enabled display. - Answer Unfortunately this cable seems to be Display Port 1.2, and does not support 2560 x 1440 @ 240hz you would need a cable that is display port 1.4a to achieve that goal

- Answer Cable is for higher resolution than what an hdmi cable will give you. None of the hdmi cables I have will render a 4k resolution on my computer screen. This cable connects to a port on the rear of my desk top computer and the port on the rear of my 4k monitor.

- Answer From https://www.displayport.org/faq/ it seems 1.4 is not really available yet. Q. What is the current version of the DisplayPort Standard? A. DisplayPort 1.4 was published in March, 2016 and defines the new normative requirement and informative guideline for component and system design. Most DisplayPort products currently available in the market today (as of May 2016) were built to the previous version, DisplayPort v1.2a. Testing that is performed for DisplayPort device certification is also still based on the DisplayPort v1.2a Standard (devices must be certified to use the DisplayPort logo). Products built to DisplayPort 1.4, as well as compliance testing based on DisplayPort 1.4, should become available in 2017.
