The one answer here claims that it's made by Haier and I also understand this is a rather old Question, but I can't seem to find information that supports that from the Haier website, it's likely a Fridigiaire unit which is owned by Electrolux but it seems like they make them here in America.

Hisense actually builds for many companies under various names including GE, some whirlpool, and now the last of Kenmore (name changed and will fade out). Under many names including even some maytag names, you have a 80% chance of having one manufactured for another company by them. WHile they are a chinese originated company, they operate in multiple companies including Mexico, the US and canada, as well as some in europe and india. Plants manufacturer for closest regions for cost reduction in shipping and protection of products.
