Component video cables are usually only used for dvd player video signals. you still need the red and white audio cable to output the sound from a dvd player. They don't output the video signal from a vhs player. if you have a dvd/vhs combo player you would need both sets of cables. The red white and yellow for the vhs and the red, blue and green for the dvd..You might be able to use the component cable if you used the red for the red and the blue for the white and the green for the yellow jacks. You would have to experiment with the cables to see what works.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can. Just use the colors like you usually would. The colors on the cables are arbitrary and you can plug them in any respective input as long as it supports RCA connectors. So for your example i would plug Green into Yellow, Blue into White, and Red into Red.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The green can be used in place of the yellow cable. It is a video cable as well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello CraftyGal, if you have an analog tv then the yellow, red and white cables will work well. If you have an HD tv, then the green, blue and red work only for HD ( high definition ). As far as the hookup, it depends on your tv and vcr. I had to plug them in the same ports that the other ones were in and change the order till it worked. I hope this helps somewhat.
