  • QuestionIs this a 1.4 Cable?

    Asked by Zimo.

    • Answer Insignia's rep here is either ignorant or lying. This overpriced 20 buck cable is DisplayPort 1.2, ***not 1.4***. I've only realized this after buying it and exceeding the 15-day return policy. Yes, I'm salty. Note that the data transfer limit is consistent with 1.2, and the specification page carefully avoids noting the DisplayPort version at all. So too does the physical box the cable comes in. I should've been more careful, less trusting. For the record, what actually led me to realizing this cable is low-key 1.2 is that it's failing to achieve true 10-bit color depth on my monitor, though it's somehow fooling Windows and my GPU driver into falsely listing it as 10 bit. This is apparently some shady crap being pulled by Best Buy and/or their in-house brand Insignia. They appear to be deliberately posturing these 1.2 cables as 1.4 without explicitly saying so in the specs. Perhaps to clear old inventory? I don't know.

  • QuestionCan I use this cable to connect two 27 inch iMac's computers together?

    Asked by Suncity915.

    • Answer No. I do not know what you mean by this. This cable is used to link a desktop-based computer to a monitor not to link two computers together. In order for this to happen you may have to link the two up in a network. Not sure, but this is the closest answer I can come up with.

  • QuestionIs this a DP 1.4 cable?

  • QuestionWhy is the version of the cable not specified anywhere on the listing?

    Asked by Franklin.

    • Answer Thank you for your question. The version of the DisplayPort cable is not always specified in product listings because many DisplayPort cables are designed to be backward compatible with multiple versions of the DisplayPort standard. This means they can support a range of features and resolutions depending on the devices they are connected to. However, if you need specific version information for compatibility reasons, I recommend checking the product manual or contacting Best Buy customer support directly for detailed specifications. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

  • QuestionWhat is going on with Bestbuy's marketing tactics and credibility? Both the Amazon and Walmart websites explicitly state that this cable's max bandwidth is 21.6 Gbps, whereas bestbuy's site advertises a cable capacity of 32.4 Gbps. An audit is needed

    Asked by Brovha.

    • Answer I bought the cabel from Best Buy and it states on the box that it has a 32.4 Gbps bandwidth. If theres a discrepancy its probably at the manufacturer level
