Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When both lights are on, you know the surge protector is operating as it should. The surge light means that the surge protector is functioning and ready to protect. If this light goes out you know you have experienced a surge and the surge protector will no longer protect. The ground light means the surge protector is connected to a proper ground.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ground light indicates that a good ground is detected in the outlet, and that the protector has somewhere to shunt excess voltage. The surge light indicates that the protector is still within its manufacturer's coverage life, and will still provide the expected levels of protection. Both lights being lit is a good thing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This means that the surge protector is working to protect your equipment that is plugged into the outlet. When the lights are not on, that means the surge protector is no longer able to protect your equipment. This happens when there is a spike in power and your equipment was protected. You would need to replace the surge protector when the lights are off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it means that it is operating. When I had a power surge and lost power to the outlet, the light went off which is one of the reasons why I knew I had lost power. Once the power was restored, the light came back on.
