The plate can come off to clean as well as the rubber trim around it. I soak them in soapy water. Then scrub under the plate with a soft sponge and soap and water.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If this is anything like my standard pressure cooker, remove the gasket, wash & dry it and apply a small bit of salad oil to the gasket to keep it soft and pliable. Do not replace the gasket but store it in the pot with the lid upside down.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Disclaimer, this is what has worked for me! I usually just remove the silicon ring from the pot after each use because it holds onto smell. I run it in the dishwasher with my dishes and then place it in the freezer for 24 hours if it still has a odor. This has worked for me every time. I always store the lid face up so it can air dry and wipe it down after each use with a clean paper towel. Also I do not recommended placing the actual lid itself in the dishwasher or submerging it in water.
