Mine is very loose and "wiggly" when the pot's cover IS NOT SEALED... meaning when the cover is off the pot and/or when the pot is not "pressured" once it's done it's pressure cooking the release valve seems to be "not as wiggly" when I flip to release the steam. Not sure if this helps....but when I first put the pot together, I was thinking mine was broken because the pressure release valve was so loose & wiggly.
