I would not recommend it, without knowing all components. An UPS like the APC - Back-UPS 900VA 9-Outlet/1-USB Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector - Black would be better. Surge protection/power strips tend to be less protective. Please check the National Electric Code as your cables specs need to match. It is best to follow this Code. Short cuts are ill advised.
