They aren't dependent on each other to work, so yes, you could put on in each car.

You can play them in both cars if you purchase an extra auto power cable for your cigarette lighter. The power cable it comes with is a Y cable that allows both units to play from one power plugin source.

You would need to get another power cable. One cigarette lighter charger connects to both TVs.

only if you purchase a car plug for one of the players. the power source included in the box is one cable that splits to share power source.
