Interesting you should ask. I need to admit first that I returned the Insignia. Does it slow-cook with the glass lid? I BELIEVE so. The important information here is that the instructions give no indication of exactly how the buttons work. I had to do quite a bit of sleuthing to find out anything about the PSI level for any/all of the settings. What I found in my research is that about half of the buttons are actually slow cooker buttons instead of pressure cooker buttons. The unfortunate thing is that I can't tell you which ones are which. If you are an enterprising type that can work through all of the settings to figure out how they work, you might be able to slow cook with the Insignia. One last thing that you didn't ask, but I do want to mention- while there is a rack for use inside the cooker, it is 2in off the floor of the cooker, and the lattice isn't close enough to hold even EGGS. If you were to cook potatoes in it, those would sit on the rack well enough. However, since the cooker is 5 or 6 inches deep, you've lost almost half the space available before you even get started.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes! I use it for that and also when simmering.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and it's useful for covering the pot after pressure cooking to make it easier for people to serve themselves. This is a good price but almost any 9" lid from a non-pressure pot or pan should fit if you already have one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is for use when there is no pressure just like crock pot type cooking.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes as long as you are not using the pressure part its nice to be able to see your food cooking
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. This lid is specifically for the slow cooker function. The metal lid is for the pressure cooking function which will lock in place when the pressure builds up. The glass lid has a small round vent and allows you to see the food being slow cooked.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it works the same as a Crock-Pot lid would.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yup that’s what it is for slow cooker and to store in fridge, heavy lid is only for pressure cooking
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased this lid because I thooght that it was to be used for the slow cooker feature. I haven't used it as yet but when I do a slow cooker meal I will use this clear lid.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
