This is exactly what you need. I am using it for that. You must have a vizio. They decided one year to leave the coax off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Insignia NS-DXA3 Has connections to do this. The outside/Inside antenna with the coaxial cable plugs directly into the RF In Jack on the back of the converter box, then the HDMI (not provided) is then connected from the HDMI Out of the Converter box directly into the HDMI In on the TV. This connection provides the best video and audio quality.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This has HDMI and video outputs (and coax). I have an overhead projector (no coax input or tuner) that I wanted to use as a TV and this was perfect. I first tried the video output but it was grainy, then switched to an HDMI to DVI cable I had and the clarity is amazing. So just HDMI output to input on your TV should work great. This unit also picked up a bunch of channels my other TV didn’t find. The only negative thing I’ve noticed is that I don’t get the channel info about the show that I get on my TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That is confusing. The converter box is a digital to analog converter. It takes the digital signal from over-the-air and converts it into an analog signal for older TV receivers. However, they have an HDMI output, which struck me as odd since HDMI is for digital inputs. But they do explicitly say that's to hook up coax to TVs without coax input. So, surprisingly, yes, it should work in your situation.
