Yes, this adapter is the opposite of what you need, you need a HDMI to DisplayPort adapter, not a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. Also, you won't get any audio with that approach, just get a cheap TV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. It will not work the other way, for some reason. I found this out the hard way with a DVI-HDMI adapter. You have to pay attention to the wording in the name. I did find an HDMI to Displayport adapter, but they are much more expensive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the other way : my computer gives out Display Port and my monitor receives HDMI. Works fine. You should make sure you have the right kind of cable. ie, HDMI to Display port converter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should have the HDMI cable connected from the output on your DVD player to the HDMI input on the adapter. Then the display port plug-in on the adapter will need to connect to your monitor. This is exactly what I had done except I wasn't plugging in a DVD play. Not that it makes any difference.
