A:Answer On the bottom side actual overhang, like the “doubled up’ ridge that runs around a lot of tables, I would say 3” MINIMUM or have a second pice of wood or other material to butt up against a thinner ridge that was the same thickness to achieve the 3” minimum. It can be wider and deeper of course. Also, it sticks out past the edge of the table between 5/8” and 3/4” if that matters. Original photos show the bottom side of this.
