• Try this, to Factory Reset the Remote, press and hold at the same time the DPAD-left, Back (↩) and Menu (≡) buttons for at least 12 seconds. To pair the remote again, press the Home button for up to a minute. Also you can download the Amazon Fire TV app on your Smartphone to control the TV over WiFi, then go to Settings > Controllers & Bluetooth Devices > Amazon Fire TV Remotes > Add New Remote > Amazon Fire TV Remote. Please make sure the TV has the latest firmware version, go to: Settings > Device > About > Software Version > Check for system update.

• yea mines to power button only works nothing else i tried everything but nothing works

• re: Insignia's reply above - for what it's worth, using the Fire TV app won't work unless the TV is already past the initial "Select a language and pair remote" stage of setup.

• Mine was a bad remote. Tried all suggested online info about rebooting/resetting remote, but nothing worked. Don't let batteries sit in remote if not used for s period of time.
