• "Open Box" means that the item may have been a shelf display unit, but more likely it means that it was purchased, returned and then inspected by Geek Squad as resalable for a discounted price. It could even be a unit that was NEVER used, but once the seal on a product has been broken by a customer, the product is considered an open box item by Best Buy.
