No, the unit won’t protect the air tag from getting wet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not water resistant or proof. Just a simple key ring with AirTag cut out

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s made of plastic and holds the AirTag. I wouldn’t soak my AirTags in water but it won’t hurt the holder.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is. It is IP68 resistant. This means you could drop it to 5 meters or 16 feet of water for an hour. I swim with mine at the lake. I always keep boat keys in my pocket since it is the water pressure deep down that truly hurts them. I love these things!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The empty key ring is plastic and waterproof. However, once you put in the Apple Air Tag in the key ring it is not protected from the elements. Often if dropped in a puddle and picked up quickly enough there most likely is minimal damage. However, Apple does not cover liquid damage. Like other Apple devices they are able to assess if it has been dropped in water most likely due to a dye that is released with in the internal parts of the tag. Also since this is a third party accessory there is no liability for a customer’s accidental mistake in exposure to water even if briefly.
