There's a hidden self clean mode. Press and hold the power button until the ice cube size lights start blinking between large and small. If it doesn't do this after 30 seconds of holding the power button, turn the unit on then off and then press and hold it again. I don't think it's possible to remove all of the mold from any countertop ice maker on the market currently, there's no way to actually brush away the mold/mildew that builds up where it forms ice. There are disassembly videos on youtube for cleaning, they seem complicated though. These appear to be throw away consumer products. Also, if you're going to clean it with vinegar, don't leave it in there overnight, it'll start to eat at the metal fingers that form the ice. I did this once and came back to green liquid dripping off of the metal fingers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it doesn't self clean. I just wipe the water area with a clean wet cloth, with a little soap. Then wipe it with a clean wet cloth. Dry it with paper towels. Went its not in use, I drain the water out and dry it with paper towels. So far so good, I just bought mine like a month ago.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Clean the interior with diluted detergent, warm water, and a soft cloth, then rinse with clear water. Take out the ice basket and clean it. Unplug the water drain cap to remove all water. Replace the water drain plug before filling with water. Mary II Insignia Products II https://www.insigniaproducts.com/contact-us
