You need to change the audio output of your TV to "PCM" to use the digital optical audio cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most likely your TV is not outputting in PCM format. Most TVs have an option in the menu to set optical output to PCM. Look for it. If it doesn't have one or isn't set correctly, this is probably your culprit. This sound bar is pretty dumb and can't make sense of any digital input that requires additional decoding, so the TV has to do it. Worked fine with my Westinghouse in PCM mode. If you set PCM and still doesn't work, you might have a defective optical port on the soundbar, or TV, or maybe the output on your TV is actually an input.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Is your TV sound output set to PCM? Google your TV model and search for PCM setting to make sure. Otherwise, make sure it works if you use a different type of cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to change the digital output format of the sound. This is not a digital soundbar so I believe you need to make it PCM or something like that. I had that problem too and had to flip the sound output on my TV Hope this helps G

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Golfer420 the hero without a cape. Bought a new TV (samsung) after 9yrs. couldn’t for the life of me work it out. Samsung FAQ don’t even mention PCM when troubleshooting why the optical cable doesn’t work - blame interference of router and everything else. Thank you!
