• It will power a Dell computer but will NOT charge it. Dell uses a proprietary chip in their products that prevents non-Dell adaptors from working. Our family will no longer consider Dell when purchasing a laptop.

• It will run a Dell Latitude E5440 when plugged in, but it will NOT charge the battery. It will be "plugged in, not charging." The Dell "Command Power Manager" pop up window complains that "The power adapter attached to your notebook is not recognized. Attach a supported power adapter with at least 65 watts."

• The box lists Dell compatible. There are multiple plug ends for different laptop computers.
