It's not a flash drive. It has a slot on the side for a memory card. Very convenient for tablets that don't have a memory card slot but do have a usb port. Your Nikon should come with a special cord for usb.

A flash drive is an external memory device (sometimes called a memory stick) with built-in additional memory for file storage. The two are completely different and not interchangeable. The USB SD/MMC memory card reader is attach to a computer using its USB port. You should be able to remove the SD card from the Nikon D3400 camera, insert it in the VUSB SD/MMC memory card reader, and transfer files. I don't know why you would even get involved with this method since the camera itself is supposed to have a built-in Bluetooth connectivity option. If your computer has no built-in bluetooth, you can get a bluetooth adapter for it and transfer files this way.
