this is more of a comment to the answer by Donovan. To be able to use "Hey Siri" as you are pulling up to the house, you just need a Home Hub set up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it does not work with Amazon Alexa. Only Siri via HomeKit.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have not found a way to get ti to work with Alexa yet. I am hopeful that they will create an Alexa skill.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. It is specifically designed to work with Apple HomeKit and Siri. You can look into z-wave devices, such as Linear, that, with a hub compatible with Alexa, will work for that. We have Linear openers connected to our Vivint alarm system, which I can close (not open) with Alexa. Vivint does not allow Alexa to open doors/locks or unarm alarms for security reasons. I'm not sure if other hubs/controllers have this same limitation either. That is why I installed this one side-by-side with the Linear system - so we can use "Hey Siri" as we are pulling up to the house to open the garage door.
