Yes, the remote works with the D7100 at least as far as I experimented with it. I tired the remote in Auto, Shutter Priority and Manual modes, using "Time" as the Manual mode shutter speed, and it worked fine. Using it in Manual mode with a "Bulb" shutter speed resulted in the camera taking a shot about once a second, as long as I had the remote button depressed. This probably isn't a big deal, since with the "Time" shutter speed setting, pressing the remote opens the shutter and pressing a second time closes it, so the "Bulb" selection isn't needed. I think this has to do with the programmed camera operation or a camera setting I may have missed. Overall, the remote does trigger action by the D7100, but some further reading of the camera's manual and some experimentation may be needed to integrate remote operation with all of the camera's different functions.
