QuestionCan you use existing Badger 5 (1/2 HP) cord with this model or is there a cord specific to 1HP?

- Answer Hi AppleGirl, we do not recommend re-using an existing cord on another disposer or for any other use. Power cords that are attached at the factory are not designed to be removed. We have a Power Cord Kit model: CRD-00 available that contains all the necessary parts to install a cord on any un-corded InSinkErator garbage disposers.

- Answer Instructions are clear. Professional plumber or third party plumber provided by Best Buy installed mine. First time installation was messed up. It leaked. Best Buy replaced it 3 months later.

QuestionProduct height and width don't make sense. The image shows a height greater than the width, yet the dimensions state 6.75" height and >12.5" width. Can you please confirm or clarify.

QuestionTwo things: Thing 1: will this fit any size/dimension sink? If we are needing to install this on a 21”-24” x 17”-18” sink (dimensions are approximate as we don’t have the sink yet), Thing 2: which power adapter is required/suggested for this product

- Answer Hi Cwils, thanks for reaching out! There are no limitations as to what type of sinks our units can be installed onto. As standard, most sinks come with a 3.5 inches (90mm) sink hole and our disposals are designed to fit these, you just need to check that you have enough space under your sink to fit the unit. If you’ll need a power adapter, we have a Power Cord Kit model CRD:00 that contains all the necessary parts to install a cord on an un-corded disposer.

- Answer My Best Buy installer re-hung my new disposer. They did not have the piping needed to reconnect it. I believe it came with the cord which they did not use since it was wired direct with the cord out of the wall.

- Answer Each disposer has a built in circuit breaker incase it get locked up for whatever reason. If you turn it on and it doesn't work, push the breaker back in and use you tool to free the unit. Then try it.

QuestionI have available space under my sink, but I’m curious about what specialized piping this will require. Is there a specific sort of drain/trap this will require, and will the installers have it? Will I need to buy it?

- Answer If you don't already have a disposer hooked up you will need additional piping. Lowes (or any big box) will have the plastic pipe you kneed in a kit ($16). I replaced all of the piping under the sink and took 1/2 hour. Best Buys installers will only REPLACE and Install the disposer if it is already there. Call them to ask to be safe for your area!
