Make sure it is on the motherboard CPU compatiablity list and you have the right BIOS update to use properly
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have a 9th gen processor you will need a new mobo, however if you have a 10th gen cpu it will work in the socket. As long as you do a bios update on your mobo. If you do have a 10th gen cpu though, I would seriously ask if you need this upgrade.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.9th Gen NO. Different socket. !0the Gen perhaps, with the proper BIOS update flashed to the motherboard. I use this CPU with a GIGABYTE Z590 1200 MB that will support 10th and 11th Gen CPU's with BIOS F6. I also updated to BIOS Version F8c and it runs just fine
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.9th gen no it uses a different socket. 10th gen is socket 1200 and compatible with the 11th gen cpu.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would need an LGA 1200 motherboard with support for 11th gen cpu's many 10th gen motherboards DO support 11th gen cpu's with a bios update, but 9th gen motherboards do not as they are socket lga 1151 which won't support 10th or 11th gen

You must verify compatibility before attempting it. To find third-party motherboards that are compatible with Intel®'s Boxed processor, you can use the Intel® Product Compatibility Tool here: *https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/* Thank you for choosing Intel.

Naturally, you'll get the best performance from your 11th Gen Rocket Lake CPU by pairing it with one of the newer 500-series motherboards, but because they use the same LGA 1200 socket and have the same pin layout, you'll be able to slot them into older Z490 and H470 series motherboards as well if you only want to upgrade your CPU. You'll almost certainly need to perform a BIOS update before connecting your new CPU, but at least it gives you a bit of extra flexibility. To find out if your motherboard is due to get a BIOS update, check Intel's support page. Not all 400-series chipsets will let you do this, though, and Intel have confirmed that their lower-end B460 and H410 chipsets will not be compatible with 11th Gen Rocket Lake CPUs
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can't use a 9th gen motherboard because it is not supported. 11600k uses LGA 1200 while 9th gen is LGA 1151. The only 10th gen motherboard that supports the 11600k is the z490.
