Questionwould it work to install 2 Clean bases - one on each floor of a 2 story house and just carry the Roomba itself up the stairs rather than buying 2 units?

- Answer Yes, you can use more than one Clean Base with your Roomba s9. You can also just have one base on whichever floor you choose and carry the Roomba to the non-base floor to have it empty and recharge.

- Answer Fortunately, all Roombas will manage rugs as well as fur. I do recommend starting your search at the Roomba e5 level, since that's where the cleaning brushes move to 2 rubber multi-surface versus 1 rubber & 1 bristle. It's a bit better for human and pet hair. Your other considerations are how much suction you think you'll want, how much area you want to clean on one mission, what technology advancements you want (recharge & resume, directed room cleaning, teaming) and finally if you want the ultimate with automatic dirt disposal. Best Buy has a great comparison chart on the iRobot page that can help guide you.

- Answer The Clean Base™ sold in North America is designed to work on at 110-120 volts. This is considered Low Voltage. Unlike the regular Home Base, due to the vacuum motor in the Clean Base™, it cannot perform as dual-voltage.

- Answer To answer your question, the Clean Base for the i series and s series are different, and would not be compatible with one another. For the i3, the i series Clean Base would be the best choice to make.

- Answer No, the i-series robots are only compatible with the i-series Clean Base. The functionality is the same but the alignment is slightly different. The model number for the i-series Clean Base is 4626191 on www.bestbuy.com.

- Answer No, the Roomba 960 is not compatible with any of the Clean Base models. You would need to purchase the i or s series Roombas to pair with the Clean Base and get the automatic emptying feature.

- Answer The 800 series isn’t compatible with any of the clean base options due to its bin design and technology. The new i3+ is where the Clean Base capability starts.

- Answer Thank you for your question. The Clean Base is model-specific. It’s important to purchase the Clean Base for the model you own, as they are not interchangeable between the Roomba s9 and Roomba i7.

- Answer Unfortunately, no - the robot requires additional technology and a different bin in order for the auto-evac Clean Base to work. This unit works with the Roomba s9.

- Answer The Roomba 675 doesn't have auto-evac capability to empty its own bin, so unfortunately this base won't work with it. That technology and the accommodating bin are only found on the i7 and s9.
