What makes the 890 worth$125 more than 690? null

not sure honestly - we noticed the price increase over our original unit but it does have a bigger catch basin and runs quieter so it may be due to improved design. Very glad we made the jump though.

The iRobot website states that the 800 series have 5x more suction power than the 600 or 700 models. I'm in the market for one and I'm going with the 890 for the extra $125 for the suction power. I would rather be safe than sorry that the 690 doesn't clean well enough that I would regret it later.

10 year warranty on the motor for me.

Better suction. More sophisticated.

The 900 series uses sensors to map the room for a more efficient cleaning path. It also has more power and different brushes then the 600 series. If you have a large floor to clean then splurge on the more expensive 900 series otherwise the 600 series should work just fine.
