“I don't understand the difference in the Vacum I Roomba Robots. I read what the ad says and they all sound the same? Roomba 650 ? Roomba 980 ? What's the difference between the 2 Robots? Whys 980 so much more money?”

The 980 is multiroom. So it will go into every room on the floor. Battery life is longer too. He 980 has carpet boost. So you will hear the auction increase when it senses carpet. If you have a main floor with multiple rooms, get the roomba that has entire floor/multiroom cleaning.

With the older versions, you have to carry them from room to room and charge them manually, and for some need use additional external navigation system. I absolutely love the 980. It really does everything for me seamlessly. I turn it on from my phone when I am at work and by the time I am home, the apartment is clean! The only suggestion I have is to make sure there are no wires or small things like thin socks/underwear on the floor before you clean. They can get tangled in the roomba and it will have to stop cleaning until the debri is removed. Otherwise, it really is an amazing device! You won't regret it. I hope they will make a moping roomba with similar technology soon.

While it has the same three stage cleaning system as the 980, and other higher models, it doesn't have the tangle free extractors or the phone application to schedule cleanings remotely. It is a very solid unit depending upon your needs. If you want the functionality of scheduling through the iRobot Home app then the new 690 can be a good upgrade for a smaller price increase. The 980 can run for up to 120 minutes before recharging, has carpet boost and can be scheduled through the iRobot Home App. This model also comes with a higher efficiency HEPA filter which becomes standard on the 800 series and up.

Please try again later.As near as I could tell when I was trying to decide which one to buy, it is this: the higher the model number, the newer the model, This means that more of the complaints and 'bugs' from earlier buyers have been handled. I own a 980 and I LOVE IT!!!!

I think they are listening to customers and fixing problems as they go. I just purchased a 980 and I am loving it! I did a TON of research before purchasing the 980 and I see that most of the things that people complained about are not issues with the 980. Most interestingly, Fifi seems to be getting better each time she runs, like she is learning as she goes!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Roomba 980 is the latest generation. It has a camera on board and can be controlled by iPhone or iPad. I believe the 600 series was introduced around 2012 and then came the 700 and 800 series.
