Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not know about kitty litter. I do not have an indoor cat. I have 3 mats in my kitchen. Two are thicker and one is not so thick and it does fine with them. I have an area rug that it has trouble getting on. It is thicker. Otherwise does an excellent job. I love it because it gets along the edges/baseboards, also. Janice
