No, the i3 does NOT have smart mapping... which means you cannot tell it to clean specific areas in your home. The higher tier models (i7, s9) DO have the feature. The i3, however, has a "Clean Map" feature where it tells you where its cleaned. The Clean Map is found in the "history" section in the iRobot Home app. Not sure how the 675 handles carpet to wood or vice versa... but the i3 does a great job... I have no issues with it getting stuck or turning back thinking it's an obstacle.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the I3 and it shows me on the app where it cleaned but you need the I7 to tell it exactly where to go. Mine goes from rugs to hard floors perfectly.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One of my 2 i3 models just got the Mapping uploaded to my app with the software update. Not sure why my other i3 hasn’t got the update yet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the i3 has mapping and you can designate which areas to clean. We have it and use it daily with that function.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The i3 had a software update in March and it now includes Smart Mapping. It's a little buggy so far and I have raised some concerns with technical support.
