You can as long as the GoPro will output 1080P.

I'm not familiar with the GoPro8. But, you can find out by seeing if the GoPro8 will connect to a monitor with an HDMI input. If you can see what you want to see on the monitor, you're good. Use the same cable to plug the GoPro8 into the J5 and the J5 to your PC via USB.
