How do I hook it to my phone and my TV null

I have a Note20 ultra 5g. I plug the usb c cable in to the phone, then plug the one end of the hdmi cable in to the device and the other end to the tv. You may have to change inputs. Then if you have an android phone, tablet, then the DEX settings will pop up. This is for sound output and if you want to use the phone as a touchpad. You can also mirror the screen if DEX is not compatible with some apps, like Amazon Prime. I hope this helps.
