- Answer Our JBL Bar 9.1 and JBL Bar 1000 are most likely the same. Our JBL Bar 1000 has a new exterior design, 7.1.4 channels, compatibility with the JBL One app, and Bluetooth version 5.0.

QuestionI’m confused about the detachable speakers. Should they work while docked? When there is no light does that mean they are charged? Do I need to recalibrate every time? Haven’t got them working right. Any advice welcome.

- Answer Yes they work while docked and do not need to be recalibrated each time. I would refer to user guide for help. I found they were say to set up or google videos on best set up.

QuestionJBL 9.1 hooked up through a Samsung smart TV via HDMI with NO optical. Works well watching TV & Blu rays, again connected through the TV. Tried to connect my Sony CX355 cd player via the optical cable direct to the JBL but can get nothing? Any ideas pls??

- Answer The audio input from the TV connection, where the HDMI OUT connector is used, is prioritized over the optical connector, Bluetooth, or HDMI IN on our JBL Bar 9.1. When using the Sony CD player, we recommend that you turn off the TV so that the soundbar will take the optical connection as a current source. If you need more help with your unit, please contact our customer support for assistance.

- Answer Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're here to help. Please try to perform a factory reset by Pressing and holding the POWER and SOURCE buttons for 3 seconds. After the reset, You can now start all over with installing your BAR 9.1 Surround. You can also try changing to a different HDMI or Optical cable. If the issue still persists, please contact our customer support for further assistance.

QuestionIf this soundbar is wall mounted, do the rear speakers stay attached okay even though nothing is underneath them

- Answer Our JBL Bar 9.1 can be wall-mounted together or separately from the rear speakers. The magnet holding the surrounds to the soundbar have such a strong grip, that even if there's nothing underneath the surround speakers, they will hold without issue.

QuestionI know I can connect one DVD to the TV but I have a CD, DVD, turntable, tape player, etc. I'd hate to have to deal with all these components one at a time. What is the best way to connect all these to the soundbar?

- Answer The turntable cannot connect directly to it, it needs a receiver or amp of some kind. I used the same thing I previously connected to my old speakers (an older Aiwa receiver) and got an adapter so I could hook it up to the soundbar.

QuestionI have a number of devices (e.g., DVD, CDs) for which I would like to use the sound bar. Can I attach all the devices to a receiver and then output the receiver to the soundbar? Or is there a better way to use many kinds of sound producing components?

- Answer Hi, you can connect your DVD/CD PLAYER to your TV and one HDMI or optical cable from the TV to the soundbar, that will work

QuestionHas anyone experienced any issues with no sound coming from the sound bar? Geek Squad techs said they have no idea what’s causing the issue as all the connections and settings are correct. Sound bar was working great for a month with my Sony OLED A80.

- Answer Make sure your TV and sound bar is not on MUTE and volumes are not at lower settings . This happened to me & restart everything had to check TV internal speakers then replug sound system with checking remote functions and/or replacing batteries. I hope this helps.

- Answer As far as I know you cannot purchase without the sub. However, you can use the soundbar without the sub but you will be missing out on the true sound capabilities of this particular setup. Maybe you should consider one of the many lower priced soundbar only setups that are available.

QuestionJBL 9.1 soundbar and sub. Worked great, but now wireless detachable speakers are ALWAYS low battery within 2min of taking them off the soundbar. I am always shutting off the soundbar into standby mode. Have left it for 48hrs and still no charge. Help?????

- Answer Try using a pencil eraser n clean the connections parts on both main (center speaker) and detachable ones.
