The JBL Flip 4 is rated as IPX 7 water-proof: this grade means that the device can be submerged in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes without permanent damage. Usage of this in a steam shower is possible but not highly advisable as it might still cause damage to the speaker especially if contained in a shower for more than 30 minutes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The speaker is waterproof and I take a set of them in the washroom for full on stereo, however, I would recommend getting a roll of black electrical tape to put over the USB jack, as the steam could eventually rust it, and you won’t be able to charge it anymore. I don’t know if that would happen before the life of the speaker, specifically the internal battery. I presume you could get the jack replaced but it may not be cost effective unless you know someone who fixes audio equipment. I also leave the strip of electrical tape on the side, which I also use if I go out in the rain.I usually bring a roll of tape with me as well. Full on outdoor tunes!
