They have an IPX5 water resistance rating. Which essentially mean they have some resistance to splashing and sweat. As long as you don't immerse them in water they are good for outside use.

I believe they are pretty waterproof my son put them in the washing machine and I did not know, so they got fully washed and dryed and still work perfectly fine! Crazy huh

I just dropped an earbud in the toilet, completely submerged and pulled it out as quickly as I could. They still work.

Mine fell out of my ear into a paint tray, was able to wipe off the majority of the paint and they still work. Sadly, not black anymore though. Lol

They are NOT waterproof - they claim to be SWEATPROOF. See attached chart. IPX5 is this product's rating.

I accidentally washed mine and dried without knowing they were still in my pocket took them out charge them up. Then connected them to my phone. They worked perfectly fine. Crazy right!?

They are "sweat proof" meaning that you can work out with them and not worry but they can't be taken into the shower and can't be used when swimming.

No. They are sweatproof which is barely on the cusp of water-resistant. In other words, if you are working out they will be fine, but don't expect to use them in a downpour outside.

While trying to adjust the fit i accidentally dropped one in a cup of tea. Never have i ever drunken anything this quickly in my life. I only dried it off with a towel and they're perfectly fine. If you look at the shell/ case there's basically no way larger quantities of water could slip through any cracks or openings. So you would really need to bathe them in whatever kind of fluid for a extended period of time to damage them. I'd say if you take them out immediately you should be alright. (Although I would take this advice with a grain of salt, because i can only tell from my experience. Plus there's alway the alternative of sealing them in a bag of rice for a day.)
