• Not at all. You can use one at a time and it lets you know when it needs to be charged, then you can swtich to the other earbud.

• Thanks for your question. Our JBL Vibe Beam has the Dual Connect feature which lets you use either side of the earbud in mono mode while the other is in the charging case. If you need more help, please contact JBL Customer Support.
